TRANSEND STIGMA

Art is breath. A living composite of sometimes words, images and sounds that combine into an expression of meanings and ideas and opens the doors of personal growth.

Stigma is suffocation. It forces hard limits upon our perspectives, stifles our conversations and robs us of our empathy.

The Mood Disorders Association of BC wanted to look at what role art could play in the process of deconstructing social stigmas. They commissioned a group of young, independent artists who have lived with, and overcome, personal hardships; asking them to reflect on the idea of stigma with an original work.
